In an inspiring initiative, six culinary students with aspirations of becoming chefs had the unique opportunity to meet renowned Chef Eric LeVine, a celebrated figure in the culinary world, known for being a Chopped champion and voted top chef on Long Island. Chef LeVine, who is also a partner at the acclaimed restaurant 317 Main, graciously invited the students to his establishment during school hours.
During their visit, Chef LeVine dedicated nearly three hours to engage with the students, sharing insights about his culinary school experiences, his professional journey, and the realities of daily life as a chef. He provided a comprehensive tour of the restaurant, including exclusive access to behind-the-scenes operations.
Going above and beyond, Chef LeVine invited the students to return on a busy evening to observe the kitchen in action. To top off this enriching experience, he prepared a complimentary three-course lunch for the students, allowing them to watch the culinary process unfold from the chef's counter.
This experience proved invaluable for the students, fueling their passion for the culinary arts. The school looks forward to organizing more trips like this in the future, encouraging students to explore their interests in becoming chefs.
