In conjunction with the Junior Achievement Program, Massapequa high school students came to East Lake Elementary to teach "Our Community" lessons to our second grade students. Students were immersed in the daily life of their community. They learned the importance of being an involved and responsible community member. The high school students instructed the children on how to buy and sell goods and services. As well as getting paid and paying taxes, exercising their civic duty to make good decisions for the community. It was a wonderful experience for all involved.
