East Lake Takes on the Hall of Science

Recently the East Lake Elementary 5th Grade Magnet students visited the New York Hall of Science, in Queens, New York. During their time here, students used science, technology, engineering, and math to tackle challenges and create new ideas. This hands-on museum encourages students to follow the Design Make Play approach to learning.
Students were able to explore The Connected Worlds Exhibit where they saw how using simple gestures to plant seeds, harvest trees and create clouds, can affect the environment.  Through thoughtful decision making and manipulation of the limited shared water, students were able to find a natural balance in order for plants and animals to survive.
