The district is happy to announce that the Massapequa Public Schools Annual Science Discovery Fair is scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Berner Middle School. The event is open to all young scientists in grades K-8. This is a great opportunity for our budding scientists to investigate, explore, and report on those natural phenomena that stimulate their young, creative minds. We already have sold out events, and others with limited space available. With no school days off between now and April break, it was important to us to give many opportunities to our community for family fun as well as fundraising events so we can continue to support our Birch Lane family. February 25th: STEAM Night at United Skates BLE-Steam-2025.cheddarup.com Limited tickets left and sales close tonight! Join us for roller skating, pizza, and a STEAM lesson tomorrow night from 5pm - 8pm! March 4th: Mardi Gras Parents Night Out Fundraiser Spring-Fundraiser-2025.cheddarup.com Join us this Mardi Gras for a masquerade casino night! Limited space available for this fun way to raise money for our PTA. We have over $5,000 worth of prizes to giveaway thanks to generous donations to our PTA. We hope to see you there! March 10th: BIRCHO Bingo Night Bircho2025-S2.cheddarup.com Session one tickets sold out in less than 2 days! We only have a few seats left in session two for one of our most popular family events of the year! Join us for lots of prizes and SO much fun! Our boys and their dates are guaranteed to have a blast with a glow DJ party, inflatable games, giveaways and so much more! March 26th - April 4th: Booosterthon Fundraiser Details to come soon! Our biggest fundraiser of the year kicks off March 26th and culminates April 4th with one of the children’s favorite events of the year - the Fun Run! We love the opportunity to fundraise for our school while giving back to the kids in the SAME event! The more we raise, the better the Fun Run, and the funds raised support the school for the whole year! If anyone is interested in joining a committee for any event going forward we are always welcoming new faces and can always use the help! Dear Birch Lane Families,What an incredible three weeks it has been! Today marks the final day of our PARP Program, and we hope you’ve all had a fantastic time reading together! This year's PARP was packed with excitement, thanks to the Birch Lane PTA! We kicked things off with an amazing school-wide assembly featuring Joe Romano’s “Smile, It’s Magic!” We also welcomed special guest readers into every classroom, gifted each student a specially selected book to inspire Adventures in Reading, and sent home a fun prize bag today as a thank-you for participating! None of this would have been possible without our dedicated volunteers and the support from our fundraising efforts—so THANK YOU! A huge shoutout to Mr. Aspetti for the awesome Principals Challenge! If we log 65,000 minutes of reading, our students will earn an epic Game Day with snacks and movies! Let’s do this! To view the list of courses, please click on the "Class Registration" icon located in the navigation menu on the left side of the parent portal screen. Please note, if your child has an IEP, all recommendations will be discussed and courses finalized at your child’s CSE annual review meeting. Parents of Students in Grade 5: If you have questions regarding a recommended support class, please contact your child’s current 5th grade teacher or Patricia Quinn-Hendry, Comprehensive Literacy Chairperson K-12, at 516-308-5153.
