For students who are enrolling to attend Kindergarten in September 2025

  • Registration begins Monday, December 9, 2024 for students who are enrolling to attend Kindergarten in September 2025.

  • The link below is NOT for the registration of new students who are enrolling to attend grades K-12 between July 2024 and June 2025. That information is listed in the next section.

New Student Registration for Grades K-12

For students who are enrolling to attend grades K-12 between July 2024 and June 2025

Registering in the Massapequa School District is done via the PowerSchool Online Registration Form. You will be required to create a PowerSchool Registration Account before you can proceed. This account can be used to register any other children in the future as well.

We recommend reviewing the required documentation for student registration prior to starting the online registration process as outlined below. Even if you do not have all of the required documentation on hand, you can begin the form, save it and return to the form at any time prior to submission.

IMPORTANT: The account required for registration is NOT a PowerSchool Parent Portal account - it is a separate registration account.

New Student Registration Process

Change of Address

Parents of students currently enrolled in the Massapequa School District must notify the District Central Registrar and reprove residency when there is a change in address. This must be done whether or not transportation services are provided or there is a change in school placement.

Private / Parochial School Application for Transportation

Residents of the Massapequa School District whose children will be attending a private/parochial school in the 2025-2026 school year may submit an application for transportation.

  • The deadline for submitting a Private/Parochial School Application for Transportation is April 1, 2025.

  • If after this date, you should still need to apply, please contact the Massapequa School District Transportation Department at transportation@msd.k12.ny.us.

Information for Displaced Families

Federal legislation provides options to both parents and school districts for accommodating the educational needs of students during a period when they may be displaced from the regular home, as well as unaccompanied youth.

  • If you are a Massapequa family temporarily displaced to another location, or a youth not accompanied by a parent/guardian, please review the information in the section below, and contact the Office of Student Support Services at 516-308-5051.

  • If you are a resident of another school district temporarily staying with a Massapequa family, please contact the Office of Student Support Services at 516-308-5051.

YMCA Child Care Program

The Great South Bay YMCA, in partnership with the Massapequa School District, is pleased to provide a New York State-licensed Before and After School Child Care Program.

Due to the popular demand of our programs, space is extremely limited.  A new member lottery is held each winter (February or March) for the upcoming school year. If you do not get in through the lottery, your name will automatically be placed on a waiting list.
